Supervised Private Practice (SPP), Emerging Private Practice Owners, & New AZBBHE laws effective 2026 and 2027.

Goals:

Introduction to Discernment Counseling: 1 CE
Not every couple is ready for couples therapy. When one partner wants to leave and the other wants to stay, it's important to recognize when a different approach may be needed.

Goals:
- Participants will demonstrate foundational knowledge of Discernment Counseling for working with couples experiencing marital ambivalence.
- Differentiate Discernment Counseling from traditional couples therapy by describing the unique goals and structure of each approach.
Objectives:
- Identify the clinical characteristics of couples who are appropriate candidates for Discernment Counseling.
- Describe the three possible pathways (Path One, Path Two, and Path Three) that couples may choose following the Discernment Counseling process.
- Explain the roles of the "leaning in" and "leaning out" partners and how these roles influence the counseling process.
- Recognize the primary interventions used during Discernment Counseling sessions to facilitate clarity and informed decision-making.
